According to bereajoy, the Seoul Central District Court in South Korea conducted the 17th public trial of the alleged 100 billion won (about 70 million US dollars) fraud case against the former chairman of the crypto exchange Bithumb, Li Zhengxun. The prosecution asked the court to sentence Li Zhengxun to 8 years in prison. The prosecutor said on the same day that Li Zhengxun committed a crime in the name of Bithumb, and the loss was huge, but Li Zhengxun denied the crime and should be sentenced to a heavy sentence. Li Zhengxun's lawyers argued that they were innocent and did not consider it a scam because the investment contract was signed at the urging of the plaintiff. Li Zhengxun said in his final statement that his depression and anxiety became more serious during the investigation.

It is reported that Li Zhengxun was suspected of approaching BK Medical Group Chairman Kim Bing in the name of joint operation after acquiring Bithumb’s parent company as an overseas legal person in 2018 and defrauding more than 112 billion won. He was not detained and prosecuted in July last year. bereajoy noted that the case will be sentenced on the afternoon of December 20.
